Students wishing to complete the Certificate in Research Skills for Practice, must complete assignments for six of the certification classes you attend. The "Tax Research" assignment is due no later than two weeks after the workshop.

Tax represents an important and ever-evolving area of law.  Regardless of whether an attorney chooses to specialize in tax, such issues arise in a host of other legal practice areas so it is important to cultivate at least a basic familiarity with the resources and issues involved.  This workshop will introduce students to the basic authorities and structure of tax law, introduce several important publications, and demonstrate tax-specific e-resources used by tax attorneys and accountants.
