This guide’s purpose is to aid law students and practitioners in researching international human rights law and practice materials.


The guide identifies a variety of primary and secondary sources and includes both print and free online resources.  Please remember that this guide is not an exhaustive list of materials or resources.

Research Tips

There is a large amount of print and electronic materials related to international human rights issues.  Before searching for primary sources, consider looking through some of the research guides, bibliographies and indexes listed under the Research Guides & Reference Materials tab.  These sources provide useful background information and can help you conduct a more targeted search.

Not all international documents include english translations. Click here for a site with a selection of free and fee-based translators.
